I always wondered what the reason was for the unit to pick this particular patch ,so out of character of the other groups no menace no guns or bombs or devils just a plain old silouette of a scotty dog .Does anyone know the history or story on this patch

I believe FDR had that type of dog and it may have been a reference to that. Or as in one of the fighter squadron patches it was a mascot of the unit.
