    Aota Mutsuhiro wrote the book “Full Gear”. He also wrote the book “Zipper Gear”. I emailed him about “Flash” zippers. Here is his answer: “As far as I know, FLASH zipper is one of Canadian zip from post WW2. I have never researched it. Sorry for that. AOTA”

    My uncle flew USN combat aircraft during WWII. Later in his career, he was the CO of the Fleet Air Gunnery Unit in Yuma in 1959. In about 2000, my cousin gave me his father's G-1 from 1959. It has a couple of patches and a nametag. The jacket had been in a cardboard box in a garage attic and...

    Ltjg David E.T. Braden of VB-21 and Rasputin. Photo taken in June 1943 at Henderson Field, Guadalcanal. Braden has signed the pic to Betty Brown, my aunt. The notation on the side of the pic was written by my uncle Ltjg James S. "Bud" Brown of VB-21.
