Well, it wasn't exactly a matter of life and death. I dont think anyone really living on the edge while wearing vintage jackets :) Rather, a thought about a topic that I personally haven't given much attention to.
I hope no one got offended by the term «disgusting». I collect...
I dont have genuine concerns about this, as i have been wearing vintage military jackets for years, also leather jackets wich are hard to clean
I have never had any problems. But i think my topic is fear. How dirty are these pieces that we are wearing, even after washing. Iam no way any...
Just wondering, was there many of the M65 jackets that was made during 1968-1975 that never made it to Vietnam? I guess many vintage jackets today on ebay never saw action in Vietnam at all, even if they were made for it?
Thanks for the advice.
Regarding Agent orange on vintage clothes. It seems that it depends on a lot of things. How much the jacket or clothing actually was used in these areas of course, but if they was and was heavy exposed to Agent Orange (dioxin), it depends on the storage of the jacket. If...
I wash pretty much all vintage clothing before i use them first time, yes.. Mostly because of the smell of some of these jackets. I dont wash them before every use after that…
Sorry for the lack of response. I have been away. Glad to see all the answers in this thread! Appreciate it.
I have...
I have several m65 jackets and also jungle shirts from Vietnam era. I always wash them in machine before use, but it is hard to get rid of the «old smell» sometimes.
However, yesterday i heard that the Vietnam era jackets are disgusting to wear. They may have dangerous bacteria, diseases from...
Anyone has any knowledge about jungle shirts as well? Originals from Vietnam era. Just bought a 68 dated jungle shirt, and on the label it says «hand wash».. I can do that of course, but will it hurt putting it in the machine? Same as the M65, 30c? Or will that ruin it maybe?
While i have this thread, i might as well ask you.. Is this a correct label/tag on the 1966 contract? Was there no name of the maker on the tag this early?
Thanks for the advice! Thats a great suggestion. I agree. On my Eastman B3 i did try a jacket 40, and sent it back for a size 42. Even size 40 was to tight, short and general discomfort to wear. Size 42 was perfect and easy to move around. Im glad i did not added length to a size 38 or 40 from...
I agree with you. I just contacted Aero about this and try to get it right before they start on my jacket. I want as much accuracy as possible, but im not an expert on a2’s, so i dont know every stitching or details on the different contracts. But the fit and the colours should be correct at...
Thats the fit im looking for! Perfect!
I was also thinking size 40 at first. But after sending my measurements to Aero and their suggestions i was unsure.
They suggested: 27 back length, 25,5 sleeve and size 38.
Well, i sent all my measurements to Aero and this is what i was suggested :)
Im a tall and slim guy, at 37 chest, and this jacket has a bit relaxed fit as well, then 38 is fine i think. I usually wear medium in basically all EU sizes.
