Here's my thoughts: that jacket looks odd to me because of the cuffs and reinforcements. The "reinforcements" on the aforementioned jacket are squared off which says to me it may be a later model jacket - as well, the turned up cuffs are a serious alert to me. I have...
I agree it's the first type, there is no EXT following the contract number and the diamond reinforcements are what make this beauty a bear to even think about wearing. I certainly wouldn't think of selling it any time soon, but what's the market value on a jacket like this?
I'm still in awe of how well it's held up after all this time. The arms are still stiff with the diamond (horsehide?) patches on top of the arms. Any extra info on that? What I gathered is that the former owner was a Catalina pilot during the war..other than that, I have absolutely nothing. No...
You gentlemen might hate me for this. I may have even posted about this years ago, but I took a look at my all time favorite vintage flight jacket and realized I have little to no information on it. It's a Fried Ostermann M445a authentic ww2 contract. Here's the tricky part. The tag contract...
Daily wearer since Christmas of this year is the Junkers 6524-3. Check it out here http://www.pointtec.de/junkers/6524-3/
I find that it's a fantastic watch, takes a beating (sapphire crystal comes in handy) and my only real beef with it is that it's manual wind (which I originally wanted)...
I should clarify: I was only insulted that yet another fashion company didn't use the correct historical reference for their product - not that an A2/Irvin be confused. I feel they are both remarkable jackets. An Irvin is on the top of my jacket wish list :)
I'm a HUGE fan of Uncrate, they showcase a ton of really interesting things that I like to look at or add to my wish list. But, as a jacket collector, this really chafed me: Uncrate tends to feature a few garments in a collection feature and I spotted what we would all spot as an A-2. The...
That's excessive. Spending the money that some of us do on jackets makes it even more stressful waiting THAT long for a jacket. And you'd think that you wouldn't have to hound Mark so much for an update - after awhile you'd think he'd want to reach out to you without you making the first move...
It's been awhile since I posted, been quite busy here in New York and just generally getting things together after the holidays with some setbacks here and there. Winter, I feel, is always one of those times where things seem a little more stressful. However, for Christmas I was lucky enough to...
I do have a G1 from my time in the CG. Also have the Avirex A2, an M445a from a Catalina WW2 and an original B6 that I picked up in fragile condition, but no rips, tears, etc.
Annnnd for christmas I got the Junkers Chrono I wanted :) I'll have to post photos later.
I've been on the hunt for a good, well made (to last) Aviator Chronograph and in my search I came across one that I really like. However, I wanted to know if any of you had or have one. The model I'm looking at is http://www.thebestoftime.com/junkers/ju ... _large.jpg.
The main things I'm...
