Watches to wear with your flight jackets...

It is the Tudor again, so no need for a picture...

Just had an interesting discussion with two colleagues, one of them is interested in good watches, too. His are mostly titanium case watches, which I think are far too light to be proper time tools...;)

The other one has no watch at all, but uses his smartphone to check the time.
He made a lengthy argument, how totally unreliable hand-winding or automatic watches are, one always has to control their proper function and most of all: They need to be rewind every 36 or 48 hours!!!

It is great how these arguments are always coming from the guy who has absolutely no problem with recharging his phone at least once a day....

Did somebody read the story about British schools noticing that kids these days have more and more problems to check the time on analogue watch dials? Problem seems to be solved by not teaching it at all....

Had this discussion about checking the time on the smartphone or the wristwatch and this many times...
A lot of people loose or forget their phones...A wristwatch...not so much...furthermore the constantly charging of the SP is a constraint...a wristwatch...not really...etc...
A lot of casualties due to SP... due to a wristwatch...never heard of any :)

The last one before they introduced the Co-Axial movement for the Seamaster Professional Diver 300....

It was my first "premium" watch, and I bought it back in the days when Omega was still value for the money.
Omega asked 1,850 € for them, I got it for far less as they were pushing the new co-axial models and wanted the "old stuff" out of the shops .....today the price for a new version Diver 300 is 3,000 €.

Development sounds pretty much like jacket prices, I guess...

No flight jacket / watch combination today, but suit, double cuffs and....Black Bay again.
It's the one day per year that I have to wear a suit...
