That jacket is a knock-out.....!!
As far as selling it at a profit...…..I've never read any forum rulings that prohibit buying and selling any item for a profit.
As far as I can tell, reducing ones prices or selling at cost, is a courtesy that the listing member chooses to extend to the other members at his discretion.
If the interested party wants the item, he can pay the price or negotiate a better deal.
I personally don't have a problem with any of that, regardless of what side of the fence I'm on.

If you buy a jacket and sell it at a profit then well done. We are not charities after all.
There are occasions where we move on jackets at a price to clear. All about balancing the books overall.
Hopefully if this jacket is moved on, it will find a very happy new owner and all parties will be happy.

Fair enough...we are all different...I would not dear.....would feel bad selling my jackets to fellow members or friends and making a profit on them...
Sorry not my cup of tea...not my opinion about ethics when treating friends and fellows....
Again, we are all different...

I had always assumed (wrongly it seems) that you were a dealer.

Again, we are all different...

My dad died back in February. When we were going thru his stuff, we came across a bunch of his old flight jackets. An MA-1 and a couple of N-3 parkas. One of them was a nice Skyline with nice fur hood trim, shoulder decal, etc.

He was issued these when he was flying, so he paid nothing. Now, if I sold them here, I'd be making a fair amount of bucks free in clear, all pure profit.

Where does that fall in the grand scheme of things? Or should I, in the kindness of my cold back heart, just give them away?

Moot point, really. My nieces and nephew scarfed them all up (since they were mediums). The parkas are keeping my nieces warm during the cold Scranton PA winters.

Selling my jackets at approx 15-20% of the new price? means 85-80 % rebated?
Sorry if I dont need to deal, so ...Yes wrongly assumed...

I think there us a difference between selling a worn jacket and a brand new unworn one.

100% agree.
All my here sold jackets were almost unworn, with original boxes/packings and documents.
Will sell my 2x worn ELC RW Redskin 46” very soon...
( as soon as I am back at the place where its stored)...
Good for the prospects

an Irvin and an L-2 were unworn and never “ unboxed”... except for the photos here...
Ask the buyers here...
Others... worn 2-4x ...
But OK..sure... this is why I discout by approx 80%

Sorry but I don't understand the maths. You discount by 80 %. That means the Irvin you sold to Joe for 800 euros would have originally cost you 4000 euros!

Apologies
I meant the DD A2 and the BR L-2A...both brand new unworn...
Your right I am bad in math and surely would make a bad dealer... ruin the business immediatly...
Looking for some private lessons/classes how to make business and profit
