Thanks. nice find. I am always up for things like this. Man, those were some gnarly hides they used back then. Must have been a mass harvest of the oldest horses ever.

Anyone any idea about quality of their garment????
Brett has a few reviews on both the A2 and G1 jackets in TFL:
AVI A2 Bronco Seal (http://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/avi-lthr-bronco-a-2-jacket-review-pics.92117/)
AVI A2 Bronco Seal vs Russet (http://www.thefedoralounge.com/thre...jacket-review-pics.92117/page-10#post-2410243)
AVI 55J14 G1 (http://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/avi-lthr-55j14-g-1-jacket-review-pics.90990/)

Personally, I'm selling my Cockpit USA A2 now and will only keep my AVI G1 as regular wear. I like the G1 and it's a good entry-level jacket!!!

Have also owned the A2 Bronco Seal and only sold it because I got the wrong size. It was a lovely jacket, although I don't think the seal version uses goatskin. The russet version reviewed by Brett suggests it to be an upgrade from seal!

Maybe, ..,but I want to make sure ...no child labor and no toxic chemicals for tanning and dying the hides... on top of all other ethical issues...
But thats me.., others may do what they please...
Also... why to hide the provenance... one may ask?

@Pilot Those are great points! I didn't even think that far. I'd definitely take those into account in the future.

Spot on with the provenance...usually companies want to actively show off their "sustainability" efforts or all made in USA/EU/Japan production.

Agree on the quality...but still no info where they are made...

Pakistan has been mention but neither confirmed nor denied, they seem too cheap to be from India.
The price shows they are certaintly can't be paying very much to the machinists

I remember getting some dye off the rayon lining when wearing my G1. Also had to sew one button back to the pocket last night as it was a bit lose. These observations might be aligned with your argument.

The quality of the leather is however very fine, definitely on par with my former Cockpit jackets. Obviously I don't know if the tanning is non-toxic...

Appart from the ethical point of view ( first human but also animal..), please also think about all chemicals which may be used ( uncontrolled) during tanning...
This „ great jacket“ is your second ( large surface) skin.. you also breathe it etc...
With all due respect to Co. who invest a lot in fair trade and code of conduct etc...Hidden provenance, low low low cost etc...No more ... thx.

Yup! average monthly income for a skilled worker: 40,-US$, no labor control, no polution control, one can use all chemicals and solvents he pleases...no restrictions.
Yesterday I saw the French customs opening a crate filled with leather furniture ( shipping came from Pakistan) ...they wore gas masks when going through it....The chemical stench ( noticeable even approx 10 meters away) was not to treat the crates/wood...
