My New What Price Glory Irvin

Really love this and super for the money. Despite the shortcomings in re authenticity like the zips, collar details, its a pretty impressive jacket and something to consider at its current 1/4 the price of an ELC. Its very lightweight hide, super easy to wear. Great grain. No hardware or sewing issues. Arrived with some scratches which disappeared with some Pecards. I would certainly rate it competitive with most all other repro options at a much lower price point. Not perfect but a wonderful vibe. They are on sale right now. Will take some fits pics later:

Looks nice CBI, certainly has some grain. How's the fleece in comparison?

the fleece has a nice look/feel, its thin/SOFT compared to something like an ELC or Aero. Overall, I was not sure what to expect, I have to say that for a budget jacket it has greatly exceeded my expectations which NEVER happens for me with budget jackets!

Looks like a great jacket for the price... :) I haven't been into fleece jackets, but this one may change my mind. ;) WPG's description regarding comfort looks good to me as well:

Real sheepskin leather throughout. Details you don't get: Lightning zips and a useless elastic strap under the collar. WPG jackets are a bit lighter and more flexible than most others, so they are more comfortable and practical, while still maintaining the classic good looks of this style of jacket.

The WPG Irvin is based on a 1941 Wareings design. It s remarkably good value for the money. The skin is superb and so similar to many originals. Change the zips with Wartime Dots or Lightnings and the belt buckle and it would be almost perfect!

I think Pakistan or India
Nope! approx. 30km from Dubai Airport UAE.
In Sharja ...tax free and special trade zone.
But ...yes ...when I was there, ... I saw a lot of Indian and Pakistani workers... machinists... ( of course UAE could not survive an hour without them...).
Make an appointment and pick your jacket... if in case you transit in Dubai...But you need 6 H all in all due to immigration and back and forth...Taxis are safe and cheap and easy to go there...
If you need a contact mobile N# please feel free to PM me... I have a contact for your visit there..

Very tempted to buy one and mod it with tapes to produce a late war version - Andrew, is this feasible?

John,
We're practically the same size - what size did you go for (and was this for layering)?
How are the sleeves for length?
Cheers
Ian
