Hi all,

What jackets if any are on your “want to buy list” for the forthcoming year ?

Seriously thinking about an Eastman Werber 1729 in Warhorse . Been reading everything I could find on it . I particularly liked Roughwears' comments he made a while back regarding the jacket, indicating that it was the most accurately made repro of that contract. If anyone has additional thoughts or info on this model please feel free to PM me.
Oh ....as a second choice I'd pick up a ELC Perry mixed batch B-3 in size 46. So if either of you jackets are out there looking for a new home in 2018, come to papa ;)
Happy New Year!

I stand by those comments. It is a super A-2 and you can't go wrong with it.

The only jacket I have my wanted list is a decent original Monarch in a size 46.

I think This year I will look for a wearable original jacket as all mine are reproduction. I’m considering a 50’s or early 60’s G-1 as most of these seem to still be affordable and wearable .

I really like my GW Werber 1729. I really wasn’t interested in getting a Werber, but John had one for sale and the pics were great. He used an antique Italian horsehide and it’s my absolute favorite.

I have a couple projects with John this year that I’m pretty excited about... that should about cover my jacket itch.

That is a beauty!! Didn't know JC made that contract.

I didn’t either. I called about a jacket on his sale page and he mentioned he had a couple others for sale as well that hadn’t hit the sale page. I forgot all about the one I called about as I just loved the look of this horsehide. I also have an early pic of Chennault wearing a 1933 Werber, and always enjoyed that period of aviation.

I’m having a B-3. Probably an Eastman if I can find a decent one second hand. Maybe another A-2 as I no longer own one.

Leatherwise, an A2 has to be top of the list. Most likely Eastman and most likely second hand at that. I'd also love to get an Aero Half belt of some sort?

Nylon, both an L2A and a B15D or MA1. Almost definitely Buzz.

Cloth, an N1 by next winter and one of those Blue Utility jackets that are someway between an N4 and an A2. Almost has to be an original, since hardly ever seen a repro. Could see myself buying a B9 at a push as well?

Right now I'm only on 4 Flight jackets (B15A, G1, G8, N2A), so if I'm lucky might add at least 2 more before the year is over?

I’d like an ELC Dubow in seal warhorse with purple shade knits and a Crown zip, size 40 please, if only they made such a jacket...I live in hope.

Please Mr Eastman?

I also don't have enough money to buy some serious stuff, that's why I'll never be able to buy a repro (and it's a chance that I don't want a repro too ;) )
But there are plenty of good deals on vintage military issue jacket on eBay, sometimes it's such bargain that it's purely theft ^^

I've lurked on here for some time, reading the posts and learnt a lot in that time, at the moment I have a Cooper goat skin A2 and now the time has come to dip my toe in the water a little deeper so am seriously thinking about an Aero "real deal A2" I can't justify the cost of a top end jacket but think it's a step in the right direction.
