Just got this B-15B (Size 44!) Jacket in a group of unrelated items in a "have to buy it all" situation. I researched the name (Walter B. Staudt) and low and behold, this was the famous Commander of President George W. Bush when he served in the Texas Air National Guard. Tons of articles about him discussing (or not) Pres. Bush's service. Staudt retired a Brigadier General, and was a decorated fighter pilot in WWII and Korea. His F-85 crashed into the Yellow Sea after dogfighting with a MiG and he used an escape mirror to signal a US plane for rescue. He was also the stunt double pilot for Rock Hudson in his flying scenes in the 1956 movie "Battle Hymn."
