Hi, new member here. I saw a jacket from Avirex that had a nice brown color but I couldn't identify the exact shade. I would like to know the color so that I can buy similar jackets in the future. Thanks! Here's the jacket by the way

looks to be russet [assuming the pic and my monitor are in sync], treated to have a mottled look. by the drape and smoothness of the hide, i would guess a type of lambskin. so, kumite, why not introduce yer self to mob.

Welcome to VLJ. The colour of repro A2s varies from russet through to dark seal brown just as the colour of originals varied. It depended on the shade of brown used by the tanneries who supplied the contractors in the War and similarly today for repros. If you want to buy a repro just buy one with a colour which you like irrespective of the name given to the colour by the maker, which could be light russet brown, walnut, dark seal brown etc..

Given the money this 'hobby/love' of ours has cost me over the years and the number of jackets I have (small compared to some here) I doubt my wife thinks I'm wise!!
