ELC Rough Wear bought in 2015... Best-est russet and patina I have played with since the mid 90s when I had (and fitted into) an ELC RW 1401-P 40 with original Crown zipper.

M444.

Its not a B3, but a fleece nonetheless and gets worn quite comfortably driving the Corvette in the cooler Months with the roof off. Maybe a 70 year old design but like the car gets plenty of comments, and is toasty warm and easy to drive in.

I wear my ELC RW B-3 and ELC Irvin when i can during winter here in Göteborg Sweden, and sometimes in summer when riding my old BSA M20. I Love the look and history of the B-3, but when for instance i have to use my bicycle it is too warm. And it does perhaps "stand out" a bit in some situations. A friend said that you almost only see drunks and bums wearing sheepskin theese days. Well, they perhaps know it is the best if you spend all day (and night) outside in wintertime :) When it is really cold and snowing, it is very nice with only a t-shirt and a B-3. I find it very hard though, to wear my ELC B-2 cap and look ok, or cool, without standing next to an airplane. My wife sort of accepts the B-3, and really hates the B-2 :)

Yes, funny how the B-2 cap often look very cool in old pictures and all wrong as soon it goes on my head... I am (one of the few?) who also really likes the A-3 flying trousers and the Irvin flying trousers. It is a bit hard to find a practical use for them, i have used both A-3's and Irvin's in combo with their ELC-jacket companions on the BSA, and found it is quite comfy even in very good summer weather. If you go to an event or stop somewhere, they are a bit bulky to carry around. The leg zippers are great though if you have shorts underneath :) And you risk some comments regarding your look :) I guess in modern life it takes a bit of extra effort to enjoy some of the vintage style clothing :) Regarding the B-3 in winter, i guess i use my two BR B-10's a bit more than the B-3/Irvin, mostly because i use my bicycle a lot even in winter. Perhaps a Goretex B-3? :)
