Welcome to VLJ. Looking forward to reading your future posts. BTW members usually do not give jacket valuations.

First off is it horse or goatskin secondly does it have any problems with the zip lining and cuffs .If all is ok I would put it in the $150 to $235 range . Not a good A2 representation in my opinion, the goat is better than the hide with this company .The horse they use will never get any character too thick and spongey in my opinion . Someone on out side the forum with little knowledge of the type A-2 would pay the price I mentioned and this would be your market . We are a small group and would not be in the market for this type of jacket (we seek perfection ) , and are not the best to ask in these matters .

Hi Jonathan......... Although the G&B A-2 is in essence built more like a current issue A-2; a little blousier with larger diameter sleeves, and roomier throughout the shoulders,
they do sew up a quality jacket. Would you post some photos in the Buy/Sell section, and list the standard measurements, the type of leather, and the mark. I own one G&B jacket ( not military) and really like it. If it is their Mark 31 in veg tanned goat with the silk liner, I would be interested. Thanks. Welcome to this wonderful asylum.

I read this and thought, "And people on this forum wonder why they don't get many new members".

Andrew handled it correctly. Told the guy "welcome" and people don't give estimates on the value of a jacket.

Your response reeks of superiority and snobbery.

How do you come to that conclusion . The very fact you make that statement shows you do not understand the context of where its coming from . To be honest we have enough members what we do not have is input from said members . I shoot from the hip with statements but do not by any means consider myself a snob or superior .To find out the worth of a jacket the best way is to look at completed auctions to get a feel for the value of what you are considering selling (same way Insurance companies do ). To ask a group of people who look to find perfection in original jackets and the higher end reproducers of the A-2 type jackets who under stand every rivet and stich etc etc would not know the value of a G&B . What is my jacket is worth because I want the cash will never post here again anyway ? . If you want to call it snobbery that we like the better jackets so be it ,but a G&B is not a good representation of the mark .Its the type of jacket you would buy because you did not know any better its got about everything wrong with it .

And Andrew is an excellent usher I agree .
