1940 Wareings Irvin

Now you're talking Andrew!

Actually that's one of the things many forget now, that these were meant to be worn over SD or BD.

I have a pic of Aussie ace (and post war racing car driver) Tony Gaze wearing his old Irvin over a fairly thick winter suit and tie, no problem.

Nothing worse than a fitted Irvin in my book.

Andrew, what a superb jacket and many congrats on a fantastic restoration, the word jealous does not decribe my feelings LOL.
You seem to have a magic touch finding these jackets, do you have a 4 leaf clover?

John

The 1940 Wareings jacket has proved to be a tough old girl and does not suffer from fragile stitching like many. She bore the weight of an observer harness at Elvington last May and will do so again this May. As you can see she is a larger size probably a 7 or 8.

Those images are fantastic Andrew, love your work.

BTW if you ever feel the need to part with that larger size Irvin, I'd gladly come to your rescue.
