Well i finally to go to break out my 10 years old more or less Aero repo B3 i bought on the fourm here a few months ago. Seal brown with the russet trim. It's a bone chilling 38 degrees F tonite and i wore it out to a dinner and a movie. I gotta say that thing is VERY comfortable. I was sung as a bug in a rug and didn't want to take it off even in the theater. Not a bit too heavy. going down to upper 20's in the morning so going to enjoy it while it last's.

WOW--that's some serious cold! I have never felt that low of a temp. Not real sure i want to. that might be below even the capability of a B3. What do you guys wear for that temp?-or do you just stay inside. I"m very comfortable in a B3 when it hits say 40F and below with just a t-shirt on. Of course i"m sure one man's "B3 weather" may be another man's "A2 weather", just depends on what one's tolerance for cold is.

I was there visiting...it's cold, but I love it. I think it was -30ºf when I was born there - mom says. We lived in cardboard USAF housing. Can't imagine that, but my folks are tough stock...

hmmmm....when i first looked at the pic, i thought the b-2 was a rmj jacket. that the jacket is one that ya made, steve, is mighty impressive to my eyes. weather? ha. we got slammed with an easy 12+" of snow and with night temps in the teens [wind chill single digits]. they named this one "winter storm helena". two days before helena kicked in, it had snowed 3", so, some areas are right up there in the 15-18" area. the ferocity of the storm was not expected by the weather services, and in fact, they had called for 3"-5". not. with snow blowing like hell, and plenty of it, i wore a recently purchased alpha n-2b hooded jacket while shoveling snow X4...and this morning. i reckon that the alpha jac kinda looks like an ll bean refugee, and my wife says it looks cheap, and says the faux fur looks like a wet rat, but it shone through a real winter stress test.

Great looking jacket Steve--you got skills. It's sunny and 24 degree's here in central georgia this morning. going to be 72 in 4 days..typical weather in the South.

I've been wearing the B3 lately here in the Chicago area. Our temps have been just above zero to mid teens. Can't wear the B3 much above 20 F, I start sweating too much. Above 20, its the B6. In the 30's sometimes the A-2 is OK. I think the folks that live in milder climates blood gets thinned out, and they feel the cold more.

yea i can pull the trigger on a B3 when it dips below 40, especially with a wind chill, and never feel to warm. In the low 30's upper 20's i start feeling kinda cold. It has been said that we have a "different" kind of cold here in the south as opposed to the northeast or out west. It's not dry at all. I've heard people say that 30 in Georgia feels like 20 or upper teens in the midwest.

A damp 35 degrees F will feel as cold as a dry 20 degrees, but we have both up here. We also have dry -15 now and again

You can enjoy a B3/D1/N1 etc in less colder weather if you do some sitting.
Hollywood bowl is one place where you can definitely can enjoy a warm jacket.

Whislt the rest of Europe is in the grip of a very cold snap, the UK is basking in a mild 8 to 10 degrees C weather, very poor show.
