Hello,

Has anyone in the forum bought one of the Chinese "Bronson" B-10's and what would be one's opinion of the
jacket as compared to ELC, BR et al?

Regards,
Don

I just googled some photos and it looks pretty good for the money but the proof is in the flesh. The only thing that struck me was that the sleeves look a bit blousy compared to an original. I'd be interested to read a review.

Ask, and ye shall receive... :p My GF purchased one as a Christmas gift for me, along with a goatskin Bronson A-1. ;) The jackets should be arriving in about a week, and I'll be sure to post reviews. I saw a thread regarding the A-1 at the 'hat place' awhile back, and thought it was a decently constructed jacket with nice goatskin.. The B-10 didn't look bad either for what it is..

Just a quick post letting folks know that both the Bronson B-10, and goatskin A-1 arrived today. :)

I must say that both jackets are pretty damn sweet! The sizing charts at AliExpress / AL Jeans store were dead-on, and both jackets fit VERY well. I almost feel like I made purchases from Buzz Rickson, or another high-end Japanese site. ;) In fact, the Bronson B-10 I chose was made as a 'clone' of the BR, including the incorrect 'brick' red knits, and mouton color.

It will be a few days before I get a review / pics posted, but AL Jeans DOES have some stock of both jackets ATM. I missed the first round of the A-1's, and had to wait almost 6 months for more to be available (gave me plenty of time to 'suggest' them as gifts for my Christmas presents to my GF.. LOL! :p ) All of the pics there are accurate, so if someone is interested before I review my jackets, here is the link:

EDIT: As a quick comparison, the Bronson B-10 eats my Pike Brothers B-10 for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.... ;)

Congrats!

What size did you order, can you post your measurements ? Thanks.

Thanks! I am pleasantly pleased for certain.. :)

I'm 5' 11.5" tall, and weigh 185 lbs. I generally wear between a size 42-44R (depending upon various makers measurements), and have an actual chest size of 44". In the B-10, I ordered an XL, and the A-1, size XXL... As for fit, I couldn't have done much better if I actually had them made for me.. :)

Is there a size chart somewhere - I looked, but gave up...
Looking forward to some pics.

Here's the sizing chart for the B-10 (although it appears that most of the stock I saw available yesterday is now gone since I posted):

Those sizes look almost conventional (L = 46"?).
They offer a 37J1 that really interests me and worth a throw at that price.
Assuming it's jungle cloth, of course. Hard to make out clearly from the photos.

Yep, the 37J1 is next on my list from Bronson.. ;) I have the W&G repro, but the shell is very light-weight. Going by the B-10, and goat A-1 I received, I'm sure Bronson's 37J1 will be great quality as well. Bronson appears to be in direct competition with the Japanese vintage / military-style garment makers, only at more reasonable prices.

As for the sizing, I knew the B-10 had a thick lining to consider, so I went for the XL with the 48" chest, and luckily, it worked well. :) It was fantastic to have both the B-10, and A-1 fit me exactly as I like in vintage-style military jackets.

I found the W&G to be too blousy and soft (not to mention the wrong colour), whereas the RM 37J1B is superb, but doesn't run large enough (vintage 44" max, I think). Buzz is a little easier to find but is still relatively pricey.
I'm tempted by the rust knit B10 as well, as I sold on my ELC and RM while ago, and the Bronson appears to be reasonable quality for the price.

Just looked at the A1 which is described as sheepskin and cowhide. It looks as good as any others on the market. My only concern is they don't take Paypal I just worry about cc details on the Web. From the size charts I would need a xxxl 42/44.

I've owned many jackets up and down the price-scale over the years, and the Bronson A-1 is indeed about as good as any of them.. :) Actually, I prefer the tough-as-nails goatskin to the 'proper' capeskin. I'm not sure how they came up with 'sheepskin and cowhide' in their description... The jacket is made from goatskin of a decent thickness.. I have a 44" chest, and the XXL fits like a glove. ;) EDIT: The XXL is actually labelled a size 44 on the tag, not XXL. The B-10 is tagged a size 42.

AliExpress offers buyer-protection similar to PayPal. The transaction was painless from the initial order, to delivery. My GF didn't even get hit for any Custom's fees. :)

Can someone describe the major differences in sizing between Bronson and Buzz B10's please? Looking at the Technonut's photos it seems that Bronson B10 is somewhat "bigger/wider " in the upper back portion of the jacket, altough his look is very good.We have similar measurements (i'm 180 cm tall, 85 kg) so i'm thinking of buying XL size too.
Technonut, what's the quality of the zipper, please?

I also bought a Bronson B-10, Sz.40 with olive knits. I am China and bought mine from Tao Bao, my wife did the translating for me.

I was pleasantly surprised by this jacket. The quality of sewing and overall construction, although not up to BR and others, it is a fairly decent jacket. Compared to the BR B-10 RW version I have, this Bronson is less trim fitting that BR, but a comfortable fit nonetheless for me.

The lining of Bronson is thicker than the BR and is according to the translation, 75% wool and 25% other man made materials. The mouton collar is somewhat thinner than BR, but very adequate and the knits seem ok at this point. The Talon repro zip is the only area that falls short, so far.. It is "brass" and looks cheap and less durable, only time will tell how the entire jacket and components will perform.
