I can only comment on jackets I've had personal experience of so my vote goes to BR's M-41 field jacket. Practical, stylish, understated and gets better with age.

Beautiful jacket, Grant. I have a newer ELC Werber, and it’s becoming my favorite. I can’t wait for it to age like yours.

Hard choices but my three top picks (A-1, B-6 or J100) all are Goodwear. Absolutely best quality jackets I have ever owned hands down.

Ok then just one... have to pick the B6 just because of the winter season.

John (Lever), what are the details to look for to see if a B3 is accurate? I'm trying to determine how far off the Eastman house B3 is from any contract. Do you know they based the house B3 off any one contract or blended details from many?

The ELC house B-3 is not based on any specific WW2 contract, but like their house A2s is a blend of details from several different original jackets.

Most amazing I had was a GW Perry russet. It was a tad too small, and had to flip it, but hands-down, the one that really made me drool - aside from the Ventura by GW.
Not had as many as some of you guys, but with at least 20 over the last 7 years, those two stuck out for me...certainly only the tip of the iceberg.

With the exception of barely a fistfull of we the people of this wonderful little asylum, who possess closets brimming with enough flight jackets to make Ralph Lauren turn green with envy, most of us base our subjective decisions on what we've got in our pathetic little closets. For me, objectively speaking of course, it is a Rough Wear 1401-P made with
Horween horsehide by Diamond Dave, and patched up to the nines. A masterpiece of jacket makers art.............. objectively speaking.
This is the kind of question where you ask twelve people, you get thirteen answers. A lot of great jackets here. Grant's Eastman Werber is a lollapalooza, and so is Andrew's Goodwear Aero 16160.
