I'm trying to find out what year this Buco jacket is from. By the label, can anyone what what year this jacket is from, or if it is a J-22 or maybe a J-24?
Or how can I find out if it is horse or cow hide? IMG_0300.JPG IMG_0296.JPG IMG_0297.JPG IMG_0301.JPG

Your jacket appears to be either 1949 or 1950. I would guess it is either the 1949, J-21 or the 1950, J-22. The best way to tell is by the zips on the back. If it has one "left hand" map pocket it's a 21. If it has two it's the later 22. Very interesting find since they stopped using the brown label around 1948, as I understand it. This could even be an early prototype and be a tad earlier. DD

Thanks so much Diamond Dave!
I think you can understand why I am so confused on the date of this jacket. As you can see from this photo it does have two zippers in the back for map pockets but that logo on the label doesn't make sense. I believe you may be correct on the Proto type theory. I just wish I could find a way to know for sure.
Thank you again for your help it is greatly appreciated
